We are a martial arts people group coming from various disciplines that, stimulated from a passion for  Philippine martial arts outline, has decided to devote completely itself to the study and the spreading of Kali.
It’s in this way that IKA (International Kali Accademy) is born in 2001, led by its Master Vito Lettieri that, through his thirty-year martial arts practice (half of which in the Philippine ones), and overall thanks to his past experiences with a lot of Philippine masters, develops an effective fighting system: Kali Kalasag.
 Various Kali-Arnis-Escrima systems studied before have led Master Lettieri to create a system that could be a whole of principles that let these arts be versatile in every aspect and sector. This perspective has avoided to create a system specialized just in one single sector or in a specific distance, giving emphasis to a global vision of fighting.
IKA purpose is, consequently, to spread this art worldwide and to get it adaptable for every aspect of a real fight, even through a comparison with other fighting systems that perfectly interact with Kali Kalasag concepts and principles. |
